A problem I see is you can reserve a room in the past.

The template should lock out the ability to reserve a room in the past. Is there a way to use a gateway (e.g. eprocessing network, Authorize.net) to take credit card info?

Guesthouse uses just a simple enquiry form. It does not include any sophisticated reservation system. You can use a 3rd party solution to make bookings.
